Well this is a CD Cover I did. Both in/outside exist out of 3 parts. This is only the outside.

Our main assignment was to create opposite visuals. I choose to do some digital imagery. This is the 'evil' side, and the inside was of course 'good'.

I started out by searching for an image. Which is quite easy since I have a folder containing all high resolution images I found till now. So here is where I started off with:

Then I started to work with it, removing color from the image since its evil. And my idea was to make her look deadish. I also added some blue tints to make a dead body type of look.

Then I started of by adding a texture over the skin. Its a bit brownish concrete like texture. Giving her some old skin tone and texture.

Then I added some loose photo's around her to create some detail around the complete image. These are just random images in different blending modes. There's some freaky mask, and a shot of some car lights, a tree etc.

Then I added a lot of fire images around/over the main image. These are just some stock photo's of flames I found on http://www.deviantart.com/.

Just playing a bit with blending modes at the head, and to make the flames blend with each other.

Here I took out my stack of grunge brushes and started to place them all around the image. Creating random detail such as the images cracks and blood spatters.

And the last thing I did was create the text which exists out of 4 layers with different blend settings.

Thats all I did for the outside, the inside was the same process. I just used different images.

And there it is done. The three parts; the center piece is where the CD would go behind, and the two side flaps would be folded in/over each other.
